Hellenistic Period Regal Coins in Elmalı Museum

Elmalı Museum, located in the district of Antalya, is on route which connected Milyas and Cabalis to Lycia antiquity. Due Elmalı’s strategic location, potential data be presented by coins, particularly Hellenistic period regal issues, museum collection significant. Museum inventory records 506 coins total 472 are dated pre-Islamic periods. In collection, there 32 coins. They include Macedonian, Ptolemaic, Seleucid Lysimachos The material clearly reflects kingdom’s existence over region. Anatolian museums’ unpublished numismatic materials have importance for presenting rare or previously unknown specimens literature, period’s issues help us review existing attributions reexamine unattributed issues. this study, introduced with historical background.
